NABD Coast-to-Coast Ride-Out Across the UK
The NABD Coast-to-Coast Ride-Out is one of the most ambitious fundraising events in the NABD calendar.
Riders travelled more than 120 miles from the Irish Sea to the North Sea in a single day, combining endurance riding with a powerful charitable purpose.
A Sunrise Start on the Western Shore
The NABD Coast-to-Coast Ride-Out began at sunrise on the western coastline. Groups departed in staggered formations to ensure safe spacing and steady progress across the demanding route.
The journey crossed mountains, rivers and national parks, offering stunning scenery alongside technical riding sections. The event attracted seasoned long-distance riders, sidecar teams and adapted motorcycles built with NABD assistance.
The mix of machines reflected the inclusive spirit of the event.
A True Test of Rider and Machine
Long-distance riding presents both physical and mechanical challenges. The NABD Coast-to-Coast Ride-Out tested stamina, concentration and preparation.
Despite the demanding mileage, morale remained high throughout the day. Riders supported one another at rest stops and checkpoints, reinforcing the sense of unity behind the cause.
As one organiser explained:
“This one tests your stamina, but it’s worth every mile. Every donation goes straight to helping disabled bikers ride again.”
Reaching the North Sea at Sunset
Participants reached the eastern shoreline just before sunset. A celebratory evening gathering marked the completion of the challenge.
The success of the NABD Coast-to-Coast Ride-Out demonstrated the strength of the motorcycling community when united behind a meaningful mission.
Events like this continue to fund adaptation grants and specialist modifications that allow disabled bikers to return to the road safely.
